Whee, finally! Here's the ref sheet for my Bismuth League character, Falcon!

For those of you that have totally not paid attention for months, ( ) the Bismuth League is a coalition of mutant superheros (think X-men) that I've started here on dA. Check my journal for more info; normally I'd link to it but it's late and I'm tired and using my great-grandmother's dial-up computer, mmmkay? XP So maybe I'll link when I get back from vacation. Anyone can join, and we'd be happy to have you; just comment in my journal telling me your codename, power, physical appearance, and what-have-you!

Ok, anyway, so I gave humans a shot here. This is pretty much what I really look like (minus the wings! ), and I can attribute any deviations to artistic incompetence. My mother says my nose is too pointy here and I have way more hair really, so I'll throw that in for the record. And yes, I really am that short (too short to fly the space shuttle, according to NASA... ). Hmm, what else...?

I'm not sure how clear it was in the ref, but Falcon's wings aren't always visible. They appear when she wants them, and she can only use her wind powers when she has them out. Also, she can have her wings replace her arms (letting her fly the way a bird does; she prefers this method) OR come out of her back instead (angel-style) when she needs to be able to use her hands. I didn't actually talk too much about the wind power, but she can use it for all kinds of nifty tricks like blowing stuff around/lifting it, as well as breathing underwater (can create an air bubble around peoples' heads, from the dissolved oxygen in the water) and creating little vacuums around the heads of enemies and evildoers. Her powers can't control big weather; she can only manipulate air, not create/destroy it, and it only does what she wants some of the time. Her powers increase in open areas or places with a high wind or moving air; stagnant, underground corridors she really, really doesn't like. If her wings are physically trapped or damaged, her power suffers too. Theoretically, if her wings were ever extensively or permanently damaged, she could lose her powers entirely.

Falcon can't physically lift/fly with more than 300 extra pounds at the absolute maximum, which really limits her carrying capacity if you consider that an adult guy can be 200-something. Her wings can change shape and size depending on her needs (short and broad for maneuverability, narrow for speed, etc), but their total area can never exceed 81 square feet. The markings and colors stay the same, no matter how the wings look. Also, flying is physically very exhausting, and due to the extreme drain on her energy she is in constant danger of overexerting herself if she keeps it up for too long in certain conditions. Soaring is easy, but flying into a headwind is not. Falcon needs fairly constant sources of food and drink throughout the day, or she could be in pretty bad trouble if she needed to get off the ground.

The bismuth necklace is mine, and that's what the actual crystal looks like (it isn't carved or shaped or anything); Falcon usually wears it around her neck where it should be but enjoys playing with it and often wraps it around her hand or arm instead.

Falcon is cheerful, quick, loud, intelligent, loud, and has way more hair than is really good for her. She loves the wind and flying, and rarely puts her wings away or stays on the ground when she doesn't absolutely have to. She has a fear of underground spaces, as there is no moving air, and deep water. She has a deep love for all birds, especially raptors, and tries her best to lead her team well. Her judgement can sometimes be clouded by anger, but she never shies away from the possibility of battle and never regrets any choice that has already been made. She loathes angst and wishes to banish it from the world, along with evildoers. Falcon tries to be a strong leader and mentor, and has hardened herself to the point where she can almost never cry. She is, however, fiercely maternal to the newer and younger members of the group, and has little trouble showing affection. She tries to be fair in everything, no matter what, and enjoys using wits rather than brawn to best an opponent.
