Or, you know, non-denominational spring holiday. Whatevsies.
I'm actually sick at the moment, but I've Ibuprofen-ed my fever into submission for the next few hours so hopefully this journal is reasonably coherent. Although when am I ever coherent lol for srs you gaiz. My boyfriend just brought me soup and cookies because he's sweet, and then skedaddled as fast as he could without touching me or anything in my room because he's a chicken.
My life right now, you guys. Where's it at? Um. Busybusybusy stress stress stress but not too bad altogether. Still don't know what I'm doing for the summer but hopefully will soon. Been apartment-hunting and have discovered that DC is an awful, awful place to be a student. Seriously. There is no middle-of-the-road, "I am a poor law student derp" housing. There is "restort-style apartment with a pool and a jacuzzi and a sauna and a yoga studio and concierge and a gym and a bar and a movie theater and probably a stable full of ponies" (seriously, only one of those things is not included), and then there is "hobo." You have no other options. SUCKS TO BE YOU DOESN'T IT.
I'm trying to recall everything that's happened in my life since my last journal, but honestly there's so much of it that I don't want to bore you with all the details. Maybe just a quick rundown? Spring break came and went and it was like six different kinds of amazing, even though toward the end of it was awful and I pulled two all-nighters in a row to finish all the work I had spent the rest of the week gleefully ignoring. Rob surprised me by finagling us transportation to Pajama Jam, the big social dance before BamJam (which is a big ballroom competition), and it was AWESOME because Penn State was there and I got to see a bunch of my friends and spend four hours dancing in sweatpants. So much wonderful. And then we spent a few days at his parents' house in Maryland and I got fed ALL THE FOOD and lost at chess altogether too many times, haha.
Last weekend was amazing, we had Barrister's Ball which is basically law school prom, it's a pretty big deal. I gave myself an ulcer for like two weeks straight trying to find the perfect dress/jewelry/etc, because my boyfriend and I were determined to dance *properly* (aka ballroom) even if everyone else was just going to be grinding and doing the awkward. The venue was this super swanky hotel and we spent the entire night showing off, basically. We ballroom-danced in the mosh pit. I am not kidding, it was brilliant--we got asked like five times if we were hired professionals. It was awesome.
Game of Throoooones starts tomorrow omfg you guys are you ready for this? I AM SO READY FOR THIS. Also, for you pony fans, it's just a few hours until the premiere of Double Rainboom! My buddy worked on the animation team and you should totally watch it and then go tell him what an amazing job he did!
I have been reading Robin Hobb's "Rain Wild Chronicles" and I like them, although I'm a little miffed that the first book is 500 pages in which NOTHING ACTUALLY HAPPENS. Oh well, dragons.
Finals are coming up, so life is about to get terrifying fast...buuut, I'm working on a couple of pieces I think you guys will like. Let's see if I can get them done in time to show you.
Hope you're all having a marvelous spring so far, and that things get warm and sunny and pleasant soon! Love y'all!
