ZOMG LOOK ANOTHER ONE! 8D P

So, here's #2 in my dragon triptych series! This one could be alternately titled "The Three Female Dragons Who Formed A Close Bond With A Young Boy," but that wouldn't fit, so "The Three Fighters" it is. All three of these ladies are warriors in their own right and spend their respective series fighting for something.

So, in this installment, we have:

You chose a leader for his heart...
I hope you can recognize her...she gave me a heck of a time. XD I was forced to do horrible, painful things with her neck in a vain attempt to make her *NOT* have the same pose as she does on the Eragon book cover. ;P I know Paolini gets a lot of flak for this series, but I know that I for one enjoyed Eragon a lot when it came out. Plus, Saphira here fit well with the other two and is pretty badass all by herself, so in she goes. :3

I'll never let you down...
*Sigh* Dragon of the Lost Sea is simply not a terrifically quotable book...I tried, I really did. XD Nonwithstanding, this quartet by Lawrence Yep is one of the best, and weirdest, dragon series I've ever read. Dragon Princess Shimmer (Lawrence Yep is fantastically bad at naming characters, too--she is far, FAR more badass than you would expect from a character named "Princess Shimmer") is an exile wandering the Earth in search of the witch Civet, who stole the dragons' inland sea and hid it in a stone. Along the way she meets the orphan boy Thorn and the girl Indigo, and finds that there's much more afoot than simply Civet's tricks...This series also gets bonus points for having an absolutely TERRIFYING villain in the later books, especially for a children's series. Let's say: evil, animated, flayed human skin? *brrr* Lots of shapeshifting, dragons, and Greek Fire. ;) ALSO NOTE: I did not make that face up, I swear. See for yourself: [link]

Together, we will be unbeatable...
The third spot goes to Jane Yolen's incomparable Pit Dragon trilogy and the magnificent Heart's Blood from Dragon's Blood. I have to admit that I wasn't terrifically fond of the latter two books; but the first stands, in my opinion, as one of the best dragon books ever written. On the distant planet Austar IV, dragon-fighting is a way of life. People are either bonders (essentially indentured slaves) or freemen; the only chance a bonder has of earning his freedom is to steal a dragon egg and raise it into a prizefighter. Young Jakkin is determined to raise the most magnificent fighter the planet has ever seen, and his secret care of Heart's Blood creates an unshakable bond between the two. Wonderful book with all the dragons you could hope for; a must-read if you haven't yet! :D

This should have been done, like, a long time ago. Sorry. My comp caught a bot a few weeks ago and I had to wipe the whole thing...lost some progress, and have been re-installing everything for weeks. Ugh. XD Anyway, so that's why it's late! More to come soon, I hope!

I've read the Inheritance Cycle and Pit Dragon Chronicles and loved them. Though I haven't heard of the second series in this, I'll definitely consider it now!
