This is a prize for for catching my 5000 pageviews! The dragons are his characters Meteora (gold) and Skylighter (violet). Thanks buddy, and I hope you like it!
This was probably the most anal, painstaking "speed-paint" in the history of existence, but whatever. XP I just fail at speedpainting--I start out nice and loose, and get more nitpicky as the picture gets better and I get more afraid of messing it up...
Done in Corel Painter--I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of that program! At the very least, I figured out that the brush opacity was the setting making those nasty jagged edges, and made them go away...mwahahaha...
Ok, I am very tired and probably not being too coherent, so I'll go away now. Hope you enjoy this pic; I really had a good time painting it, and I like how it came out! Yay glowy crystals!
Oh, and PS: April and May gryphs coming soon, I swear--April is pretty much the most detailed and time-consuming pic so far, but it's coming along nicely (if slowly...). May, on the other hand, should be a bit of a break for me...hur hur let's see.

As for the style...I dunno. I've never really tried drawing this way before, so it was a new experience for me (and I quite like it! ) I used the program Corel Painter--which is good for paint-like artistic effects, although not quite as useful or use-able as Photoshop. But at least I think I'm getting the hang of it now! (It's a really hard program to learn how to use...)
If you don't think you draw certain things very well, then practice, practice, practice! That's really the best advice I can give. You should have seen some of my animal attempts from a few years ago...eek! I get the shivers just thinking about it!
Ooh, I'm so glad you like it!!! I'm really happy about how it came out--Meteora and Skylighter make a beautiful couple, and they are such fun to draw! I especially like their sleek lines--very nice to shade. I'm so happy that you like it!!! *Winghug yay!*
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P

Wish I can draw dragons. Well, I can't draw wolves very well either. How'd you do that?
