's guardian contest. We had to design a dragon based on a gemstone, with pupil-less eyes and a shape on his or her chest. So here's who I came up with! 's original guardian character was already a sapphire, so that was a no-no. My next choice was a quartz dragon, but 
had already submitted an amethyst entry, and I didn't want to steal her thunder. So I went for my third-favorite gemstone--topaz! 
It's so pretty and sparkly, and it comes in so many great colors! 
Guys, be very afraid--all girls are magpies at heart. We like the pretty shinies.
